Boxers Will Be Boxers

Bently’s First Year of Life

An investigation is underway into accusations of animal abuse affecting dogs left out in the extreme cold. One of them did not survive.

Distressful pics of 2 malnourished Boxers in Tangipahoa Parish shown up on Facebook.

The Boxers were in such bad condition the outlines of their bones can be seen through the skin. The black one died. Animal investigators think he was left outside in the intense cold that lately hit the area.

“It breaks my heart,” mentioned Tari Trosclair. “I have four Boxers.”

Trosclair is an animal lover and could not picture how a dog owner can let this to take place.

“It is really sad. That all you have to do is give them proper food and shelter and they can be taken care of and be healthy. They don’t have to suffer that way,” she explained.

The owner of the dogs could not be found. The brown Boxer was taken to Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control and appears to be better now than in the picture of it that first shown up on social media.

Director Chip Fitz said animal control is investigating and charges could be filed.

“There could be, but that is still yet to be determined when we find out just what happened,” mentioned Fitz. “To be perfectly honest, on the surface there looks like there could be, but we don’t make that determination until we have all the facts and statements in place.”

Trosclair said in case you see an animal being abused, call animal control or authorities.

“If you see something, you need to report it. Just posting a picture on Facebook, and it does bring awareness, but it doesn’t help those animals that are already dead,” she added.

The organization that helps Boxers is called Louisiana Boxer Rescue. It is planning on getting the brown Boxer from animal control.
