This is my story about my baby getting sick.
My Summer was 8, 1 month and 10 days from being 9 before she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Summer came into our lives in Nov 2003 and was the light of our lives.
The first part of August 2012 we took her into the vet for her check up and found out she had cancer, we were devastated and wanted to do anything we could to make her days the best. She started to act funny on Labor Day Weekend and we took her to the vet and found out her cancer had spread, the vet had given us some steroids to hopefully slow it down.
We really spoiled her now she got the wet food because Summer did not like to take medicines, so we had mix them in her food. This was Tuesday and starting on Thursday she started not keeping any food down and and late Friday it was food and water not staying down.
We called the vet on Saturday to arrange her trip over the Rainbow Bridge, that was the hardest call I have ever made in my life. But we had decided we longer wanted her to suffer she had given 8 wonderful years we would not trade for the world and it was selfish of us to let her suffer.
So Monday morning we got her up and took her for her last car ride, I do believe that if we had let her lay there she would have dies as when we told her we were going for a ride, she did not move. We carried her down to the car and I sat in there just watching her knowing that in just a matter minutes she would no longer be in pain or suffering tears running down all of our faces.
Her entire family that lived with her all 8 years was with as her as she took her last breath and crossed that Rainbow Bridge.
There is not a day that goes by that her name goes unmentioned in our house. We love you Summer RIP October 16, 2003 to September 10, 2012.
